The spot is a long public beach East of Larnaca, next to the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area. The beach is a popular windsurfing location for all skill levels. Kitesurfing is also possible, though there may be too many bathers on the beach during the tourist season and during the winter the wind may be too weak or too gusty.
Thermal Western winds are dominant from May till October and present almost every day. The breeze starts around 2 p.m. and lasts until 7 p.m. Average strength is 12-16 knots (6-8 m/s). The best direction is South-west (cross-onshore).
North-west (offshore) and Eastern winds are dominant during the winter.
Beach break with left and right handers. Starts working at 1.5-2.0 m and holds up to 2.5 m. Good swell directions are South-west and South.
