It was only a matter of time before someone was crazy enough to take a kite to the giant waves of Nazaré (Portugal). Nuno Figueiredo has become the first to do just that. The footage captured by Jorge Leal shows the Portuguese rider charging liquid mountains of over 10 meters high.
Since September 3rd, 1975 Dale Webster surfed 14.642 consecutive days. For 40 years, every single day, come hell or high water, he tried to catch at least 3 waves so, it could be considered to be a surfing session. He wore down 40 wetsuits and rode 35 surfboards during storms, and in nearly flat ocean conditions.
During 2015 Hurley Pro at Trestles surf contest, 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater pulled off probably the weirdest air in his carrier. Even though the judges weren’t too impressed and gave him only 4.17, the performance was surreal and deservedly sparked interest from fans and the media.
