A kiteboarder suffered life-threatening injuries when a blast of wind at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach caught his kite as he was preparing to enter the water, blew him across the beach and tossed him on the Great Highway, where he was struck by a SUV.

Cabrinha recently identified a design defect in a component of the 2016 TrimLite Cleat™ trim system. The control systems affected by this issue are: Overdrive 1X TrimLite, 1X TrimLite and Chaos 1X TrimLite control systems.
This issue only pertains to the 2016 control systems which feature the TrimLite Cleat™ trim system. The point of connection between the trim line and the depower mainline can break causing a loss of kite control.

Two companies, Algix and Effect, have joined forces to create Bloom, a brand that will explore the possibilities behind eco-friendly foams. One of their products is the surf pad.

On July 23 2015, approximately 250 pilot whales were slaughtered on the killing beaches of the Faroe Islands, part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
Crew-members of Sea Shepherd, an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization, were arrested for standing in defense of the whales that were targeted for slaughter. Sea Shepherd volunteers were able to capture graphic photographs and video footage of the arrests and the slaughter that followed.
